calvert trust opens its doors
some people had the good fortune to play on their
outside wall although it wasn’t open to the public-
now their inside wall most definately is open to all-
the pictures say it all really so I am not going to go
into too many tech facts-
I think it stands at about 25ft high with a good variety
of bottom roped routes with in-situ ropes-leading clips are in place with plans for permanent runners-
the left side is a terraced scrambly thing alowing ML
playtime and as you get to the middle there are flakes
and overhangs-to the right there are more natural
features with a good groove & bulge type thing-
bolted routes are great (nice one olly) and if you feel
like a workout, try using just the natural rock features
approach-
the roomy layout is very comfortable with space for
my yoga and skipping.......what?
for me, one of the best features is a small groove/type
belay area at the top of the wall, excellent for those who want to practise their top rope and abseil set ups
the wall is open for play tuesday and thursday
evenings-7pm-9.30pm
any info call them on 01598 763221
left: thats the scrambly
end then-below: main
performance area with
big belay platform-the features  only routes -veeeeery interesting-
did a fair bit of swinging
thats me just before
the right/left traverse which I was told takes
in the whole wall on features only-ha ha ha
so I watched one of the calvert guys do it
nic on her way up on features only
